Destiny Ink Romance, Book 12

State Trooper Mike Martin considers himself straight. Until the day he met the sexy southern charmer Beau Abernathy. Mike’s world froze the first time he saw Beau climb from the pool at his local gym, leaving him thunderstruck. He’s never experienced such lucid thoughts, or the chill of desire for another man—did this mean he was gay?

As their friendship grows, so does Mike’s concern. What if Beau kisses him and he doesn’t like it? Beau is too important to Mike to just be a sexual experiment. Worried if he’s even physically able to be intimate with a man—it’s one thing to imagine, but another to act on it—Mike enlists the help of Lady Phoebe a no-strings gay sex-ed lesson.

But Mike gets far more than he bargained for with his romantic weekend getaway. Will Mike be brave enough to face his desires and dive in the deep end, or will Beau’s dark secret destroy what they could become?

Excerpt:

“You have a nice day and drive safe,” Trooper Mike Martin said. With a tip of his regulation Stetson, he stepped away from the minivan, but not before the woman grumbled about her speeding ticket “helping your quota.”

She was lucky, had she been going three miles an hour faster she’d be facing a mandatory court appearance and the very real possibility of having her license yanked for at least a month.

And troopers didn’t have quotas, regardless of what errant drivers liked to think.

In his patrol car, Mike waited until the minivan pulled away before he merged into traffic. The stretch of highway through Birch County, Ohio, was wide open, and if somebody drove five or six miles over the speed limit, he let them go. Not one of those troopers who got a thrill out of giving people speeding tickets, he always pulled over the fifteen-plus crowd. That woman shouldn’t have been driving nearly ninety miles an hour especially with children in the backseat.

If speeders came upon a scene where they had to scrape a ten-year-old off the pavement, they might tuck their cell phones away and stop putting on lipstick while they drove.

A terrible shudder went down his spine as images of the accident struck him—the amber glow of the streetlights in the snow, the screams of anguish from the father, blood spreading across the snow like raspberry syrup on a snow cone.

No! He pushed the images away before they could take hold again.

He took a deep breath, filling his diaphragm then exhaling slowly, repeating the move until his heart rate calmed, and visions of the crash faded away. The images were never really gone, always lingering in the corners of his mind, waiting for inopportune moments to surface and affect his hard-fought-for peace and calm.

Checking his rearview mirrors, he pulled into the median crossover and put his cruiser in park, trying to ignore his shaking hands.

After a few more cleansing breaths, he felt more in control.

He hated feeling like this, anxious and off-kilter. He’d suffered from bouts of anxiety after Mom died when he was fourteen, but as a man, he thought he’d conquered it, left it in his youth. Since that horrific accident, it had become difficult to predict when an unexpected wave of anxiety would sweep over him. Long hard swims helped, but his boss had called him in early this morning, and he hadn’t made it to the pool.

His personal cell phone buzzed on the passenger seat, and he picked it up. The moment the image of a smiling dark-haired man appeared on his screen, all the darkness melted away like snow on a warm spring day.

Beau Abernathy.

Asking for a friend Cover

Lando writes about romance for a living yet shuns it in his life.

After too many failed relationships, Lando Hardwick has enough. No more dates for him. His taste in men is abysmal. He always falls for the ones who are only looking for fun.

Hesketh Trent has stopped searching for a boyfriend. They only see him as a walking cash machine, only care what he can buy them. What has happened to romance, love?

Getting soaked by scolding coffee is the worst way to start the day, but hell’s bells, the man is divine. Even though the man ticks all his boxes, no way is Lando giving him his phone number. He’ll be like all the rest: one hot night and he kicks him out the door.

But Hesketh doesn’t give up so easily. The cute redhead with no brain-to-mouth filter intrigues him as no man has ever done.

A cat and mouse chase is on, with Lando as the mouse. Once Lando is caught, they can’t stay away from one another.

Until Hesketh makes a mistake.

Thank god for mutual friends who won’t give up on them and push them together when they’re both too stubborn to take the next step.

Asking For a Friend is a stand-alone MM novel with a group of sassy men, a larger-than-life ginger cat called Flanaghan, a stubborn writer, and a man who can plan events but not his own life.

Excerpt:

I pass the cute twink who’s already hanging off another guy’s arm. Too late again. I don’t bother looking around. I just want to get home. Lando can carry on with his life without any more interactions with me.

As I step outside, I flip the collar of my leather jacket up around my neck. I look up and down the street for a cab. I’d rather do that than get the tube, but of course not a single orange light shows on the road. Fuck it and fuck tonight.

“Hesketh!”

I stop and turn. But instead of Dylan ready to give me a talking to, it’s Lando. He hovers in the doorway, but I don’t make a move. I’m not going to him. I’ve done nothing but try to get him to talk to me all week. He looks cute, though. God, why do I always have to do the chasing?

I storm up to him. “What?” He flinches back, but I’ve got no fucks left to give. “What do you want? You’ve had plenty of opportunities this week to call me and tell me to stop, that you’re not interested, but nothing. Not even a fuck-off at the counter. I’ve been in that shop twice a day, every bloody day this week. I’m a nice guy. I don’t fuck about or play games. I just thought I’d do something nice, something you might like, but you’ve done sweet sod all about it.”

He blinks a couple of times, opens his mouth, and snaps it shut again. “You didn’t leave me your number,” he says quietly.

“I did. Have you actually opened the tea caddy or unwrapped the cellophane off the other things?” I cross my arms over my chest. He’s looking a little embarrassed and doesn’t make eye contact. He slicks his tongue over his lower lip. “You haven’t opened them. Okay, I’m going to make this simple for you. I like you, and I’d like to have your number so I can ask you out on a date. If you’re interested, that is.”

Handsome man posing

Love in No Man’s Land Series, Book 2

Lucas
Fire took out my business, my apartment and almost my life a few weeks back, and now I’m living in my best friend’s house while I rebuild, and he travels the world. He found his perfect match and now It’s time I found mine.

After years on my own, I want a family, but I have zero hope in finding my match while I’m still completely crushing on the hottest builder in the world, and to make matters worse, he’s now my roommate.

I thought sharing a house with Carter would help me get over him. I’d see why he’s never had a boyfriend, or anyone worth bringing around town. I’d discover all of his faults up close and squash the perfect god-like image I’ve cemented in my mind all these years.

Problem is, no matter what annoying habits I jot down on my list, the more time I spend with him the more I’m convinced Carter is everything I will ever need. Now I just have to figure out a way to tell him.

Carter

With Michael traveling the world, it’s just Lucas and me in his house while we rebuild the café, bakery, and apartment. I’m happy for Michael. I really am, but seeing another friend get their happy beginning shines a light again on the fact that I might never get mine.

I’m sick of being everyone’s best friend, yet no one’s boyfriend. I want my happy beginning too. I want someone to pick me. To want me. To love me.

So I do what any single guy would do, I sign up for speed dating. Blind dates suck but I’m never going to find the one if I don’t start putting myself out there.

The problem is, the more time I spend living with Lucas the more I realize, I don’t want any of these random hookups. I want the sweetest guy I’ve ever met. The one who bakes me cookies to make me smile. So now I have to figure out a way to show him I can be an awesome boyfriend. I can be his happy beginning if he will just give me a chance out of the friend zone.

Excerpt:

“Ohh, aren’t you delicious?” The guy wearing deep purple eyeliner preens as I take my seat at table G.

“Ahh, thanks.”

Theo taps the mic, gaining everyone’s attention. “All right, your night starts now. Have fun.”

The app chimes, and the guy across from me immediately starts talking.

“I’m Stuart. Thirty-seven, Capricorn, I’m a stylist and live in the city, but have visited this town a few times. It’s super sweet, I could totally see myself settling somewhere like here. I could open a salon. You obviously work out, so what else do you do besides pumping iron?” He props his head on his hands, tilting it to the side as he waits for my reply.

“I’m Carter. I’m a contractor.”

“Oh, so you’re good with your hands. I knew a big, buff guy like you would be.”

“Thanks. I, umm, live in town, but work all over depending on the job.” Lucas’s warm laugh sounds from somewhere on my left. I turn my head towards the sound, and like being pulled by a magnet, my gaze finds him. He’s sitting across from a man in a suit with slicked-back hair, flawlessly clean-shaven face, and impeccably manicured eyebrows. My jaw tightens.

Really? That guy?

I can’t see his face, but Lucas is smiling, and I hate that this man, whoever he is, is making Lucas smile that way. That’s my smile.

Stuart is talking again, and I’d be lying if I said I had any clue what he was saying. My gaze keeps being drawn back to Lucas.

How to Love Thine Enemy
By Eli Easton

HowToLoveThineEnemy-1600x2400

Can a forbidden love heal the rift between two enemy tribes?

Legend says that, centuries ago, the sled dogs and the Inuit were so deeply bonded that the dogs rose up on two legs and became men. The Qimmig and the People lived together happily until one of the Inuit betrayed the dog-men. The Qimmig fled, vowing never to return.

Taq figured that was just another story elders told around the campfire. But when he witnesses two guys survive a polar bear attack by shifting into dogs, he has to rethink everything. Could the Qimmig really exist? And could they have anything to do with the special, golden-eyed boy he’d played with as a child?

Cupun has missed his old friend, Taq. But it is forbidden for the Qimmig to have anything to do with one-skinned Inupiat. When a series of events brings Taq back into his life, the feelings of protectiveness and joy awakened in his dog’s heart tell him that Taq is his soul’s mate.

But neither the Qimmig nor the Inuit are prepared to accept this bond. Are the boys fated for tragedy? Or will their love find a way?

How to Love Thine Enemy is a star-crossed lovers/Romeo and Juliet trope set in Alaska. Friends-to-lovers, doggie shifters, and destined romance with a little wilderness adventure.

Excerpt:

HOW TO LOVE THINE EMENY (Howl At The Moon book 6)

By Eli Easton

Anka brought out three mugs of tea and a plate of hard-ass cookies. She set them on the coffee table. Hanta and Taq ate one cookie each, for politeness’s sake. In their village, people did not appreciate rushing into things, so they talked about the weather, and the book exchange, which Anka was super invested in. She told them about the books she’d gotten from there for, like, the past ten years. Finally, she put them out of their misery and started the conversation they’d come here to have.

“I was a young bride,” she said, cradling her mug between her hands. “It was a nice day, so I did the washing and hung everything up outside to dry.”

Hanta and Taq shared a look, wondering if this was some random memory.

“When I got back from visiting my ananna, I could see, as I approached the house, that the clotheslines were empty. Completely empty. Not a stitch! My first thought was that my husband, Wes, had taken things down, and wasn’t that considerate?” She laughed. “I told you: I was a new bride. If you’d known my late husband, you’d know how unlikely that was.”

She shook her head, a look of surprise on her face, as if it had just happened. “I looked all around. The side yard. Inside the house. Even in the trash can. But the clothes were gone.”

“It was the Qimmiq?” Taq broke in, too excited to wait.

She made a face. “Yes. But I didn’t know that at the time. Not until I talked to my neighbor. You see, when I lived with my mother and father, we were in the middle of the village, and we’d never had our clothes stolen like that. So it was a shock to me.” She sipped her tea.

“My husband was angry at them. But me, I was more curious. The load of clothes they took had all been mine. Why did they take my things? I wondered: was there some girl in their community who was my size, and who needed things to wear? I had a picture of her in my mind, you know? Living in the mountains like they do, with next to nothing. I felt sorry for her.”

Anka picked up a cookie and chewed thoughtfully.

“Yeah,” Hanta said. “I can see that. It’s a lot less cute when they steal ATVs.”

She ignored him. “I decided, instead of them stealing my things, I should just give clothes to them. That way, I could feel better thinking about that girl. And maybe they would leave my favorite clothes alone.

“So I found some things I didn’t wear anymore. And I went around and asked others in the village too. I made a bag for her. I put it out with a note. A few days later, the bag was gone.” She shrugged. “I’ve been doing it ever since.”

Anka looked to be in her 60s. If she’d been a young bride when she’d started, that was a long-ass time. Taq thought he knew everything that went on in the village. But clearly, he did not. He wondered if Grammy knew. And, if she did, what she thought about it.

“How often do you put stuff out?” Taq asked.

“When I can. A few times a year. They only come at certain times, you know. In the spring, when they can first get down from the mountains after the snow. And in the fall, to store up for winter.”

“Do you know where they live?” Hanta asked. “Their village or cabin or whatever? Where is it?"

Anka gave him a wary look. "No. I don't know. Why are you two so interested in the Qimmiq, anyway? Did they take something of yours? You won't get it back, you know."

“Just curious," Hanta said in a voice that was too dismissive. He was a shitty liar.

Anka grunted. "They haven't touched the things I left for them this spring. Or last fall either. I don't think they've been around." She looked off into the distance. "I worry about them. Something's changed, but I don't know what."

"You mean besides them? Changing, I mean," Taq said. Subtlety was not his strong suit.

Anka gave him a shrewd look—like she knew everything and Taq knew nothing. "You've got secrets, Taq Geela."

A little shock went through him. Not because she knew his name. It was a small enough village that everyone knew everyone. But for a moment, an illogical side of his brain thought she meant that secret. The one not even Hanta knew. But, of course, she was talking about the Qimmiq.

Taq looked at Hanta and he gave a little nod. Then he nudged Taq with his elbow for good measure. Go on. Tell her.

Taq cleared his throat. "So, you know the legend of the Qimmiq? The dogs that once lived with the people and were able to change into humans? Well… I saw it today. This morning. I saw two guys shift into dogs down at the fjord."

Anka studied him with a gleam of satisfaction in her eyes. He waited, not saying more.

She reached out and patted his hand. "Thank God. It was getting tiresome being the only one who knew."

Mars Fitness, Book 1

Sometimes heartache is a blessing in disguise.

I thought my life was perfect. I lived with my amazing boyfriend. I worked with my ride-or-die best friend. I was on track to made-it-ville.

Then I came home one day to find my boyfriend sleeping with my best friend.

Now I’m lost with no one to turn to except Donnie, the silver fox who lets me crash at his house until I can figure out what the hell went wrong and how I’m supposed to fix it.

But once I’m there, I’m not sure I want to leave.

Donnie’s a lot older than me and he’s still grieving the death of his husband. My life is a trash fire and my career is non-existent. He’s a svelte spin instructor and I’m a film geek. We couldn’t be more different, but we need each other like we both need to breathe.

So maybe my boyfriend sleeping with my best friend wasn’t the worst thing to happen. Maybe it was the best. It brought me to Donnie.

Ripped is an age gap, nerd/jock, opposites attract MM romance between roommates who cuddle on the couch while watching classic movies. Expect steamy shower rooms, teary confessions, disapproving family, and brand new starts. It is the first book in the Mars Fitness series and can be read as a standalone.

CW: off-page sudden loss of a spouse, off-page homophobia, cheating secondary characters. Happily ever after guaranteed.

Excerpt:

I give the kitchen one last wipe down, then make myself a mug of chamomile tea and bring it upstairs with me. I stop on the second-floor landing. The door to the guest room is open and the light is still on. When I peek inside, I find Connor lying on his side in the middle of the bed, on top of the covers.

He looks so small like that, so defenseless and vulnerable. This big guy, all curled up, his thick thighs tucked against his chest. His dark blond hair is all tousled and his lip is pushed out in that pout.

I set my hand on his shoulder and give him a shake. “Connor.”

His eyes flutter open and reveal light brown irises that remind me of caramel. Warm and sweet and comforting. He stares at me, but I’m not sure if he sees me at all.

“Come on, let’s get you under the covers.” I set my mug aside and tug Connor to his feet.
He moves slowly, loose and languid. He’s probably on the edge of unconsciousness. I get him onto the bed, head on a pillow, and drag the covers over him, making sure they’re wrapped snuggly around him. When I turn to go, his arm shoots out from under the bedding and latches onto my wrist.

“Don’t leave.” His words are slurred with fatigue, but the neediness in them is as clear as a bell. It echoes through me and I can’t tell whether I’m reflecting what he’s projecting or whether I need that comfort too. Either way, I can’t leave him.

I climb onto the bed next to him, the thickness of the covers separating us. Connor immediately molds himself to me, head on my shoulder, arm flung across my body. He rubs his cheek back and forth, breathing in deep like he’s filling himself up on my smell. When he sighs, all the tension melts away and he’s heavy and soft on top of me.

His weight… I close my eyes as my body pushes through the murkiness of a four-year slumber. His hair tickles my chin, his chest rises and falls against my side, his arm is heavy on my stomach, his hand is curled possessively around my hip. I haven’t slept next to anyone since Roger. Hell, I haven’t held anyone as closely as I’ve held Connor since then either.

My brain dumps barrels and barrels of oxytocin into my system, the entire stockpile over the last four years. It feels so goddamn good to have Connor on me, touching me, curled up around me. My skin is all sensitive and tingly. My muscles are liquid like I’ve had a deep tissue massage. And my dick… Christ, my dick roars to life.

I’m hard, achingly hard. From something as simple as having a guy cuddle me in bed. We’re both fully clothed. There’s a thick blanket between us. But all my dick cares about is that I have a man on top of me and it feels fucking good.

Connor is already asleep. He was out the second I laid down with him. The ten extra minutes I stay there are for me. Only me. I let myself enjoy his weight, the softness of his hair, the scent of Mars’s locker room soap that still clings to his skin. I let myself soak it all in, as much of it as I can get, until I’m almost falling asleep myself.

RHYS

W hat was left of my laptop lay shattered in front of me, and my father’s shiny black shoes filled my field of vision where I lay crumpled on the floor. I choked back a sob as I watched him bring his foot down heavily on the laptop. The loud crunch and crack of plastic made me flinch and try to curl against myself tighter. I lay there staring at the dust bunnies under my bed, waiting for him to turn his ire onto me, but thankfully the blows didn’t come. This time.

“That’s that. No more of that in my house! Grown men should not be engaging in those disgusting activities. It’s filth, boy!” His voice rose louder as another pair of shoes came into view—the drab, sensible shoes my stepmother preferred to wear.

“Your father is right as always, Rhys. If you continue down this path, your eternal soul will not find salvation,” she said in that condescending tone she always used when she was sermonising at me.

I should have hidden the laptop better.

It had been a gift from my grandad for my twentieth birthday, since he’d known that anything I looked at on the computer was strictly vetted by my stepmother and dad. I could only go on a few sites, and even then, my stepmother watched over my shoulder. Grandad said I needed my independence, to see what was going on in the world—and not through my parents’ hate-tinted glasses.

My laptop had helped me explore what I wanted from life, and helped me understand who I was. Those quirks and differences that had always painted me as ‘wrong’ in my father and stepmother’s eyes, I now saw through a clearer lens. I had never admitted to anyone that I was gay, but I think my grandad knew, and the laptop was his way of showing me that I was not wrong or sinful. Of course, I was a healthy curious young man with the internet, and I stumbled upon things that both shocked and surprised me.

And then I found a site devoted to Daddies and Littles.

It was that site that opened my eyes to a world I hadn’t known existed.

Unfortunately, I’d been browsing the site when my father had chosen to barge into my room. He was supposed to be on late shift at the station since they were a man down until a new constable arrived from London, so I hadn’t expected him to burst into my room, still dressed in his uniform, eyes blazing. Seeing the laptop had sent him into a rage, and before I had a chance to close the browser, he’d ripped it from my hands.

The backhander that followed knocked me off the bed, and led to where I was now, huddled on the floor while my father destroyed the laptop, all the while spouting his hate-filled words.

“Husband, I believe it’s time we dealt with this problem. I think it’s time we sent him to the farm. Father Gordon will have him seeing things clearer.”

I felt ill.

The farm was a horrible place, and nothing like the name suggested. My Father’s church advertised it as being a place of contemplation and religious learning, when in fact it was nothing more than a forced religious conversion camp. I’d been sent there when I was sixteen, my father hoping the back breaking labour and appalling conditions would make me more malleable, more compliant to his will, but all it had done was enforce the desire to leave home as soon as I could.

I’d vowed never to let myself be sent back to the farm.
