This is part 3 of the series set in the universe of Tasier, a secret organization of people with supernatural abilities. It can be read standalone, but as it draws on the background story about Tasier developed in previous books, it is better if read in sequence.
Excerpt:
“Ryan, this is Nikki. Nikki, that’s Ryan, who we told you about on the way here.”
The boy froze and gazed at Ryan as he leaned against the back of the couch to study Nikki in return. His face was utterly serious as he took a step toward Ryan, then another. As he approached, Ryan braced for foreign emotions to trickle through his not yet perfected mental defenses. One. Two. Three. And?
But there was nothing.
Ryan sensed his parents’ cautious optimism and their apprehension, but no other feelings in the room. Nikki had no emotions, at least none he could detect. He studied the other boy, who was now only an arm’s length away from him. They stood staring at each other. His parents were talking to him, or perhaps to Nikki, but their words were in indistinct buzz. Large, round eyes were all he saw on the boy’s pale and delicate face as he approached. Mesmerized, he took a few steps forward. Violet. They were a beautiful shade of dark blue, with a tinge of amber red swirling into a deep purple. He couldn’t look away as those eyes settled on him. They were clear, full of innocence, but somehow, deep inside, the eyes of someone ancient also lurked. Those eyes had seen much.
As Ryan fidgeted in place, Nikki shortened the distance between them and lifted his index finger to press lightly on his cheek.
“Ryan,” Nikki whispered as the corners of his lips lifted into a tiny smile.
And Ryan’s insides melted into a giant puddle. All around him, his world went completely blank except for the figure in front of him. His heart and mind rearranged in an instant. He’d found the love of his life, his soulmate, his atarav.

About the Author:
Arian lives in the nostalgic rainy city of Seattle in the Pacific Northwest of the US with her loving husband, five adorable stuffed penguins, all with their own proper names, and one imaginary Maine Coon cat.
She began writing romance novels in high school primarily to entertain her romance reading buddies, but it soon became her hobby and passion. She’s just never been confident enough until later in her life to put herself out there.
She loves to live in her own head and vicariously experience the lives of her characters. How else would she be able to live half a dozen lives at once?
She’s grateful for her caring husband who’s been nothing but encouraging despite her spending hours inside her head and her imaginary furry friends who mostly don’t throw tantrums when she happens to be buried in her writing.
