Stupid Dirty Cover Single - 1

Possum Hollow Series, Book 1

CADE

I always thought of Silas Rush as my biggest rival on the track and a stuck-up loner off it. But he and his fancy pro career left our crappy hometown in the dust before high school even finished, and then I didn’t think of him much at all.

I was too busy trying to keep my little sisters from turning into addicts like our mom, and myself from turning into a rage-junkie like our dad. All while keeping food on the table.

Now he’s back, reminding me of all the things I don’t have, just like he always did.

Except now we’re both adults. And when I… y’know… talk to the guy for once, it looks like my teenage self might have been too distracted to see all the things that Silas didn’t have as well.

After catching him at his lowest possible moment, my heart goes out to the guy I used to hate. All my anger turns to guilt, and instead of a rival, I somehow end up with a socially-awkward new best friend that’s just as screwed-up as I am.

Which I can handle. I can admit when I’m wrong. As long as things between us don’t get any more complicated or confusing, I can handle it.

SILAS

I have a very camera-ready smile. Dad always told me if I wanted to make my pro motocross career stick, I needed to get over all the awkwardness and anxiety that ruined high school for me and learn to act like a real boy for the public.

Never mind that I didn’t want to be a pro rider, or smile for the camera, or live life with Dad on the road and never know what it’s like to have a real friend or - gasp - relationship. Years and years of motocross training, publicity training, and all-the-rest-of-it training; I still don’t have a life and one stupid mistake has left my precious career in the toilet.

The last person I expect to pull me out of this hole is Cade Waters. I’m pretty sure everyone hated me in high school, but Cade was front and center. Which sucked, because with everyone else, he was sunshine personified. I was always the only person who sparked that anger in him, and I never even knew how I did it.

So, when Cade not only swoops in to help me in my darkest moment, but decides to abandon our childhood rivalry and adopt me as his newest bestie/pity project, I’m not sure how to take it.

What I do know is that after a lifetime of having nothing I really wanted, all it takes is one glimpse of Cade’s life to get me hooked. He’s a mess, sure, just like I am. But all that sunshine… I want to grab onto it with both hands and never let go. No matter how confusing that feeling may be.

Stupid Dirty is a high-heat, high-angst M/M romance about dirt bikes, childhood trauma and figuring out how to love someone the best way you can.

The Sceptre of Fire
By Alex Stargazer

The Sceptre of Fire Cover

The Magical Instruments, Book 1

The Sceptre of Fire is an old school fantasy romp: it’s got elves, dwarves, orcs, necromancers, and a campy mage. But there’s a twist—a pretty big one. The orcs? They’re not really the bad guys. The necromancer? Yeah, he’s got history. And the knights in shining armour aren’t always noble…

The necromancer was once a pretty decent guy: he killed pirates on the high seas and did his duty as an Empire subject. But he loved another man, and for that, he had to be punished. Now driven by an insatiable thirst for revenge, he has turned to dark magic—and enlisted the help of orcs. The orcs have their own, very good reasons to hate the Empire. Driven out from the Empire lands and into a freezing, inhospitable land, the orcs know that hunger is a stronger motivator than most.

Opposing him are Radu, a mad mage with a penchant for boys and fashion, along with Haraldur—a talented dwarven mage smith. At first they care little for a distant conflict, but things escalate once the necromancer, in desperation, makes a pact with an ancient entity…

Excerpt:

The elf saluted them and rode off. Radu took note of his physique, which was muscular and toned, especially his legs. All that riding surely required good physical training.

“Oh, Radu, you’re insufferable,” Ainhoa said, with some amusement. “Even at times like these, you’re thinking of boning that young man over there.”

“Guilty as charged, my dear.”

She rolled her eyes. “Come. We should talk to the Council.”

“Yes, but first I must find the young dwarf, Haraldur. I’m sure I left him somewhere.”

“He is your student, is he not?”

“It’s not that formal. I simply give him lessons once a week.”

“You must have seen some potential in him, to bother. It is unusual for a dwarf to learn from a mage.”

“You’re right—Haraldur is unusual, and very talented. Now let us make haste.”

As it turns out, our young dwarf was at that moment standing at the top of a very tall tree, for he was next in line to jump. Several elvish youngsters had already gone before him, hooting in delight. A young elf by the name of Vran was behind him, goading him on.

“Come on Harald,” he said encouragingly, a wicked smile plastered on his mischievous face. “You can do it!”

Haraldur knew that, in theory, he could fly, but the reality seemed very scary. Then again, Frigg was at the bottom of the tree, watching. It would not do to disappoint her—he would never hear the end of the teasing. So, like many foolish young men before him, he jumped. He activated the sequence in mid-air. The experience was exhilarating. His mind took control of the spell, effortlessly bending the magic to his will. He raised his arms, using them like wings—though of course that was totally unnecessary—and really flew. He soared over the tree tops, circled, then dived down. As he neared the ground, he flattened out, landing hard, certainly not as gracefully as the elves (he was still a dwarf after all).

The elves applauded, while Frigg smiled, pleased by his antics. Haraldur’s heart gave a strange little flutter that was not related to the flight.

Then the adults arrived. “Haraldur! There are you are! I was just looking for you,” said Radu.

Chasing the Light Final Cover

Granite-Glacier, Book 1

Aiden Marsh is nobody. After his long-ill mother dies, he's left longing for an escape from the bills, the end of their apartment lease, and the loneliness of the city. When the internet friend he's been crushing invites him on a trip to photograph the northern lights, how is he supposed to say no? There's just the tiny little fact that he's been lying about his life for the last year. But everyone lies on the internet, right?

Russell Merritt had it all. Had. Past tense. A meteoric rise to photographer fame: a storied freelance career and his own show on World Wild. What else could he want? Then it all came crashing down, and that's exactly the question he has to answer. What else could he want?

Now, Russell and Aiden are taking on the wilds of Granite-Glacier--Russell's old, forsaken hometown--on a photo excursion that lets them both forget the mess of their lives. But even their growing attraction can only keep reality at bay for so long. They're going to have to drag all their secrets out into the light.

Chasing the Light is a sweet, all-vibes MM romance set in a small town. For fans of secret identities, forced proximity, the wild outdoors, and internet-friends-to-lovers.

Excerpt:

The first thing I see of Granite-Glacier is my name scrawled on a handmade cardboard sign.

AIDEN!!!, it declares. Three exclamation points and all, drawn in black ink, and as the Greyhound bus creaks and rumbles closer, my heart feels like those exclamation points. Spiky and excited in my chest, cavalier and airborne and ecstatic. The feeling holds on with tired fingers for a few elongated moments before evaporating.

That’s fine. These days, I’ll take what I can get.

It is night, and the sign is bathed in orange streetlight. The whole main drag is dotted with those washed-out sodium lights, narrow cones of glowing warmth that illuminate exactly how abandoned the town is.

Granite-Glacier is definitely not Chicago. Not even close. And that might be exactly what I need right now.

It takes me a moment longer to notice the man holding the sign.

Russell Merritt catches my eyes almost immediately, and that familiar grin dawns on his face, broad and handsome and bright enough to outshine every neon light in the city I left behind me. and sets me on fire.

I’ve seen it hundreds of times over the last few years. First, on my TV screen and then, somehow, inexplicably, selfies and video chats. It’s different in person. My exclamation-point heart clangs in my chest, and I drag my sleeve across the bus window to clear a streak in the fog. From those hazel eyes to the streaks of silver in his dark hair, he is every selfie he’s ever sent me, the saturation dialed up until I can’t look away.

I’m startled to find myself smiling back. I haven’t had much to smile about for the last few months. The realization dampens the grin on my face, but only for a moment. I’m meeting my hero-slash-celebrity-crush in person for the first time. I can let myself be happy for a few days. I can, at the very least, let myself be not-sad.

The Greyhound comes to a stop, announcing its arrival with an agonized mechanical groan.

Tucked away into the steep, rocky hills of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Granite-Glacier is the very end of the bus line. Thirteen hours into my trip from Chicago, there are only two other travelers. We shed the rest along the way, hugging Lake Michigan’s shoreline.

Slinging my heavy backpack over one shoulder, I follow the others down the steps and onto the street.

Audio Tour, Excerpt & Giveaway: Holiday Crush By Lane Hayes

Audio Tour, Excerpt & Giveaway:
Holiday Crush
By Lane Hayes

The Elmwood Stories, Book 3

The hockey has-been, the barista, and some holiday magic…

Court
Cut from the team, fired my agent…now what?

This can’t be it for me. Unfortunately, the phone isn’t ringing. My best bet is to head home for the holidays and regroup.

Problem: I don’t know what to do with myself. Helping out at the rink might be my ticket out of here, but nothing is happening fast enough. And then there’s Ivan. No, no, it’s not what you think. We went to school together. We’re acquaintance-friends…nothing more.

But you know, I like him. A lot. He’s funny and relentlessly upbeat. I’m a better person when I’m with him—the kind who volunteers to deck the halls and wrap garland on lampposts and—

Whoa. What’s happening here?

Ivan
I love the holidays! But running the coffee shop on my own during the busiest season of the year is going to be a challenge. And the sudden appearance of my former crush is all kinds of distracting.

See, I spent my formative years mooning over Court Henderson, our high school’s hockey phenom, even though he was out of my league. Thankfully, I grew up and left the silly remnants of my youth behind. Or did I?

Grown-up Court is full of surprises, and under his gruff yet extremely fine exterior, he’s a good soul with a huge heart. He’s charming, sweet, handsome, and— Uh-oh.

My crush is back. Just in time for the holidays…

Holiday Crush is an MM bisexual, small town romance featuring a renewed ancient crush, some mistletoe latte art, and a little seasonal magic.

Excerpt:

Court shook his head at my amazing, incredible Christmas tree on his way to the door. “I can’t get over that thing. It’s wild.”

I beamed. “I know. I love it. I buy a regular tree too, even though it’s holiday overkill. But who cares? This is my favorite time of year, and I celebrate to the nth degree!”

He shoved his arms into his jacket, a playful grin on his handsome mug. “And do you celebrate by watching scary movies and stringing candy corn and plastic spiders into garland?”

“No, smartass, but damn, that’s a great idea for Halloween next year.”

He chuckled. “So…what do you do for Christmas?”

I braced my left hand on the doorjamb and cast a quick glance at the fireplace to keep from staring at my guest. Standing a foot apart in the cramped doorway between my foyer and living room felt oddly intimate. Court took up space in my tiny abode, with his broad shoulders, towering height, and big muscles. I was more aware of him than ever. It took me a second to gather my thoughts and remember what we were talking about.

Christmas. Right.

“The usual—decorate my house, string lights outside, drape fresh garland everywhere. And yes, there’s always mistletoe. I also watch holiday movies and listen to Christmas music from mid-November till the end of the year. I bake cookies too, which always turn out to be a hot mess, but baking is festive and fun, and my family and friends are kind enough to compliment me anyway. And…I sign up for every holiday event in town, including the Skate with Santa party at the rink, caroling at Wood Hollow’s Home for the elderly, Toys for Tots Sled Fest next to the Christmas Tree Farm in Fallbrook, and of course, Holiday Bingo. By the way, all of those, including Bingo, have volunteer positions…if you’re interested.”

“I’d rather shovel snow in Siberia,” he deadpanned.

I grinned. “Your holiday spirit needs a tune-up.”

“Yeah, yeah. I don’t do holiday spirit.”

“That’s an awful thing to say!”

“Why? There’s no point. I’m usually on the road, so I’ve never bought a tree and I don’t always remember to buy gifts, either. My brother shamelessly shows me up every holiday. Oren bought our folks an oil painting of their ten-year-old golden retriever a couple of years ago. And it was really nice. I bought Mom the same gloves I bought her the previous year and the wrong-sized slippers for Dad.”

“Oh, dear. Well, I’m happy to help you this year. I’m an expert at gift-giving and—what’s so funny?”

Court’s eyes crinkled in amusement. “You’re Elmwood’s emo elf, aren’t you?”

“Ha. Ha.” I moved by him to unlock the door. “Good-bye, Grinch.”

He snickered. “Later. And thanks for tonight. It was fun.”

“Yeah. It was,” I agreed, smiling as he stepped closer.

This was where I was supposed to shuffle out of the way to give him room to slip outside without letting the cold inside, but my feet were seemingly glued to the floor. And now, we were inches apart. So close I could see flecks of gold in his blue eyes and a scar half-hidden in his left brow. I should have jumped away and laughed off this little dance before I accidentally made it awkward.

Too late.

Ugh. Now I was staring at him and he was staring at me and…his mouth was right there, hovering over mine. I could feel his breath on my lips and smell gin and something woodsy and masculine on his skin. And nope, I couldn’t resist.

I leaned in, set my palm on his chest and pressed my lips to Court’s.

And that was the match that started the fire.

Excerpt:

I relax as I see my Crow—or Bernard, as I’ve christened him. He’s dressed in the black funeral clothes that make him look like a Victorian undertaker. He stands glumly staring up at the house, his body language clearly screaming that if he were wearing a sandwich board, it would state that the end of the world is nigh.

“Evening, Bernard,” I say cheerfully, and he turns to look at me. After a year of seeing him, his empty eye sockets no longer freak me out, but his utter stillness still does. It isn’t normal to be so still. Well, not in this world.

“Any message?” I ask, twirling my house keys around my finger. “Speak now or forever hold your peace, because Levi’s waiting for me.”

He hesitates, and for a wild second, I think he’s going to actually say something.

I hold my breath, as his mouth opens and closes.

My breath leaves me in a shocked grunt as black blood suddenly begins to ooze from his eye sockets. It drips down his wrinkled cheeks in gruesome streams as his mouth opens in a silent scream.

“What the fuck?” I gasp, stumbling back. My ankle turns awkwardly, and I narrowly avoid jettisoning into the wall. I right myself, taking in great gulps of air.

I glance at Bernard and discover he’s himself again, staring silently up at the house.

“Bernard, that’s naughty. Warn a bloke, will you?” My words are light, but I’d bit down hard on my tongue when I’d stumbled, and there’s a lingering grittiness in my mouth that tastes like fear. He’s never shown me that side of himself before. “I really wish you could talk,” I add. “You’re like the world’s creepiest non-singing telegram.”

But why would he speak when he has such a cute party trick? His very presence is a message. Crows are given to us Partworlders as an early warning system for trouble. I’ve grown used to Bernard, but Tom thinks I should have an army of Crows, as Bernard could be heading for work burnout. So far, though, he’s the only poor sod who’s shown up.

Which leads me to a worrying thought. Why has he shown up now?

At one point, I couldn’t get through an hour without Bernard popping up and pacing in my vicinity, but for the last few months, I haven’t seen hide nor hair of him.

I’d sort of missed him, but now I’m reconsidering that sentiment. I might be bored off my tits with the psychic world, but Bernard’s gory eyes were not the entertainment I was hoping for.

“I hear you, Bernard,” I say softly, and he ignores me as usual. The wind gets up, but not a thread on his clothes moves. I follow his gaze to the ground-floor window, but when I glance at him again, he’s gone, leaving me alone in the dark lane.
